Colunists

BRITAIN'S newest National event, the Cliff Collinson Trophy Trial, fires up at Low North Park, Scarborough, on Sunday morning (January 13), writes Barry Robinson.

This brand-new, traditional one-lapper takes in 40-sections in and around Low North Park, Harwood Dale, with an all off-road access route that picks up Ravens Gill, so the 100-plus entries get all of Low North plus a taste of some of the East Yorks Two-Day sections as a bonus.
The entry split is heavily in favour of the Clubmen with no fewer than 61 hopefuls on the list. The names in the frame feature Mike Watson, Neil Hutchinson, David Teasdale, Vicky Ellis, Bryan Kendra, Dave Chilton and Roy Jarvis.
A total of 23 Inters will try their luck with Mark Harrison, Phil Mayfield, Adam Milner and Andy Chilton looking to make an impression.
Then, the Experts are headed by Ian Austermuhle, Michael Phillipson and Sam Ludgate from the hot Beta-UK.Com attack squad along with Josh Sprintall - whose grandfather the trial commemorates.
Jon Richardson rides for MRS Sherco along with Scunthorpe's Adam Jones while Liam Walker fronts the JST Gas Gas attack.
The action starts at a bright and breezy 9am at Low North Park. There's a butty cabin and toilets, but no fresh water or fuel on hand so remember to take your own. Here's hoping for good weather!
