WITH the weathermen predicting a great summer, things are certainly hotting up in the Red Bull Elite Youth Cup after two fantastic rounds. Following a brilliant second round at Haverigg, round three of the series now once again ties in with a round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals at Skelder Bank, Whitby, next weekend June 6/ 7, and it looks set to be a cracker.
In the 65cc class Conrad Mewse has completely dominated the series, but it's a closely fought battle between Sid Evans and Henry Williams for second and third.
The same could be said in the Small-wheeled class as Ben Watson is already on a career path to being a professional racer, and is the man to beat, so far he's failed to win just one of ten series races.
In the Big-wheeled class Aaron Pipon leads the way, even after having his bikes stolen before the previous round and having to ride borrowed bikes!
In the 14-17 year old ‘Rookies' class it's a close fought battle but one that is currently being won by Lewis Trickett on his Suzuki.
The Elite Open class where riders are on the cusp of turning professional, Alex Rockwell holds a narrow lead over his team-mate and fellow Manx native Daniel McCanney.
So in every class right the way through the Elite Youth Cup is shaping up nicely it's looks set to be a stellar season ahead!
Make sure you don't miss any of the action, and get yourself to Whitby for a fantastic weekend. Practice gets underway at 9am on Saturday with the first race at 11am for the Youth riders, with Pros rolling out on Sunday.
