WORK on the revived British Experts Trial, which will run on Saturday, July 26, and which is being promoted by Graham Jarvis and DirtBike-Trax at Armathwaite near Carlisle, Cumbria, also the scene of next year's British World Trials Championship round, has progressed very well over the last few weeks. The British Experts will act as a prelude to the World Champs and show riders and spectators what they can look forward to next year.
The final piece in the section-building jigsaw was a nine-ton oak tree-trunk which was placed on the exit of section 15. The huge trunk proved very difficult to place exactly where section builder Graham Jarvis wanted it, and required two telehandlers to position it.
But while Graham has constructed some magnificent sections for the top lads - including former World Champion Dougie Lampkin who has accepted the offer of a ride and will headline the event, he has not forgotten the Clubman riders and has been plotting enjoyable sections aimed at their ability, so they can enjoy this fantastic venue while rubbing shoulder with the cream of British trials riders.
Entries are now open for all classes so get on the phone now: 07914-777534.
The compact course will be less than two kilometres in length and many of the sections are marked-out in pairs offering great spectating points with unrestricted views of the sections. Section 10 will prove a popular hazard with its large upright slabs of rock for the riders to hop on to, with the loop ending with Graham's masterpiece, section 15, and the final climb up the oak trunk.

The venue is easily accessed via the M6. For those travelling north come off at Junc 41, near Penrith and travel north along the A6, passing through the village of Plumpton. As you reach the first section of dual carriageway, turn right towards Armathwaite, then after 500-metres, turn right into Nord Vue.
