JUST last week we featured Factory Kev Hipwell's unique - for the moment - 2008 225cc Gas Gas PRO on our page 7 slot. Kev, the man on the spanners at Gas Gas UK, constructed the 225 by taking a standard, stock PRO 125 and replacing its cylinder barrel and piston with one from a 250. What you hopefully achieve is the revs of a 125 with the power of a 250!

Kev being Kev, the whole machine was stripped to the last nut, bolt and split-pin and re-built after the chassis was painted a very tasteful red. Stir in a Keihin carb, extra flywheel weight and lots of Kev's personal touches and you have one very pretty - and potent - machine.
While Woody Hole was testing the 2008 Raga Rep he took no persuading whatsoever to jump on Kev's latest baby and have a flip round - while taking extra special care not to scratch the little beauty. (Our Ben Johnson did that when he was taking the pics (sorry Ben!).
Woody was well-impressed. "What a tool!” was Woody's initial view. "It is such a revvy liitle motor with instant zip in any situation and absolutely top fun to ride. It really is like a 125 with muscle. You ride it on revs, just like a 125 but it then has so much more go. It is a heap of fun.”

If you are impressed with the idea the good news is that Gas Gas importer John Shirt can provide you with the bits to make your own! A cylinder, matching head and piston will set you back £634.99 including VAT. You can then of course add as many goodies as you fancy on top of the initial outlay.
Go for it!
