MICHAEL Phillipson was at the Colonial Trial on Sunday but not riding. The Repsol Beta star from Crook, winner of the 2006 Travers Trial and a hot tip for the Colonial, damaged a medial ligament in the Tough One and has been on crutches for two weeks.
It seems likely that he will be out for five to six weeks and is keying in the Cleveland Trial on March 18.
Said Michael, ''I am really keen to get fit, and would have liked to be in this trial today. I have to go back to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Newcastle next week to find out how the injury is healing."
Meanwhile, Michael had to watch his Repsol Beta team mates Michael Brown and Ian Austermuhle enjoying their day. And even his own father Martin was riding - talk about pouring salt on the wound.
