Colunists

ONE disappointed non-starter at last weekend's Mantova International Starcross was German wunder-kid Ken Roczen.

The tiny 12-year-old who has a factory Suzuki contract and finished runner-up in the European 80cc motocross championship last year has been granted an international licence by the German federation and appeared in the Mantova programme.

However, the Italians insisted that everyone show their passport when signing on, and for them the lower age limit was 14.
Apparantly the boy from Apolda, in eastern Germany, was granted a
licence back home because kids of his age are now allowed to race 125s on tarmac.

Ken, who will only contest two of the European 80cc rounds this year to concentrate on his national series, the World Youth title and various US amateur nationals, was to have ridden a 250cc four-stroke at the Mantova event and it would sure have been interesting to see how he fared against the collected gaggle of GP stars in attendance.
Think the dog is more his size than an RMZ250F
