THE WOR Events team will be returning to the impressive Nantmawr Quarry venue, near Oswestry, Shropshire, on the weekend of July 11/12 for the next round of its Off-Road Premiership XC series. This will be the eighth round of the televised series and as all of the rounds to date have been so varied, the circuit at Nantmawr will be no different, with a bit of everything for everyone.
Now approaching the halfway stage of the series, the leaderboards have been developing in both the adult and junior categories.
Competitors are reminded that their best nine (from 16) scores will count in deciding the final standings, so the series is still wide open to newcomers and riders that fancy a change.
The track at Nantmawr will offer the usual five-miles per lap with the added bonus of the superb hard standing quarry for the paddock, camping and start/ finish area. On Saturday, July 11, WOR will host one of the popular ‘Race Experience Days'.
These are simply ‘huge fun' days, which offer unpressured practice, advice and mini race on your dirt bike with safe and qualified marshals and personnel on hand to oversee the action. Check out the website – www.worwevents.com – for further information.
Then, on Sunday, July 12, there will be three races. The boys and girls contestng the Junior Off-Road Premiership will have a 1.5-hour event starting at 10am over the hallowed quarry runs and open moors.
Then at 12 noon the combined two-hour and three-hour racers take to the line for the all important ‘televised' round eight of the Off-Road Premiership.
