With both of his elder brothers Jamie and Ryan out injured and watching from the sidelines it was up to young Lewis Houghton to uphold the family honour at the the third round of this year's BYMX series held at Mepal.
It was never going to be an easy task but what a great job Lewis made of it, returning his best performance of the season so far. In a fantastically frantic and totally competitive Small-wheel 85cc section, Lewis made his presence felt in all five motos, gating fast and hanging tough all weekend. Lewis saved his very best until last with a final brace of fifth place finishes that clinched fourth overall on the BYMX podium and also won for Lewis a very well deserved Express Insurance rider of the meeting Top Gun award.
