Townley is back on a Honda

TROY Lee Design has confirmed that it has signed Ben Townley to contest the AMA outdoor nationals. The 2004 MX2 world champion and 2007 East Coast SX champion, who has effectively lost two complete seasons through injury, will continue to rebuild for his comeback in his native New Zealand but could also race the first three GPs.
BT', who was 25 on Wednesday, has reserved the number 101 plate for the GPs, and the world series would clearly be a perfect final preparation for his return to the US outdoor scene.
Roger Harvey of Honda Europe confirmed that neither they nor Martin Honda have yet been approached to give Ben a base in Europe, but it would appear to be a logical association.
Martin's new signing Jimmy Albertson had an open offer to race for TLD' in the States again this year, had he not taken up the GP option.
