THE British QX Championship looks certain to undergo a major shake-up for 2010 with a meeting at ACU headquarters due to take place next week to thrash out a new format and calendar.

The MMX British MX series has been having its own problems in 2009 and many in the quad fraternity have felt a growing desire to take the quads in a separate direction from the two-wheelers.

Dedicated British Championship standard MX tracks don't always show QX at it's best and the growing feeling that the quads are used as cheap and convenient padding in a programme which clearly gives priority to the two-wheelers is an additional reason to take the quads in a new and independent direction, but still under the wing of the ACU.

The growing number of new and vibrant quad only clubs willing to present and promote rounds of a quad only national series is certainly a major factor.

And 25 years is a long time to sit in the shadow....
