BEWDLEY Motor Cycle Club traditionally kickstarts the British National trials season in early January and 2008 is no different when on Sunday, January 6, the club will stage the 51st Vic Brittain Trophy Trial at the brand new venue of Farley Quarry, near Much Wenlock, writes Barry Robinson.
Clee Hills has become the home of the trial, which moves forward into its second half century of being under Midland Centre clubs and organisation.
Bewdley is free of any Novogar Championship constraints this year and intend to give Farley Quarry a trial run in readiness for a Novogar revival in future years. The quarry is a brand new find and its location may lead to future plans for a road-based national for next year. The Club has been working hard on the exciting new venue and in the adjoining woodlands, uncovering new sections.
After several fruitful visits, club members have unearthed many varied rock sections that have been marked as good possibilites and that will allow a course with dual-routes sections catering for National Experts and Clubmen.
At time of writing, a 20 section course lapped twice is envisaged. Regulations are already in the T+MX News Regs Available columns. For any further details you may require about the trial, or local accommodation, the man to contact is John Wells on 01384-353860 (sensible hours please).
