WOR Events has announced further details of the forthcoming off-road bonanza that is known as the ‘Tough One Extreme Sprint Scramble'.
The entry lists are now full and the event is undergoing intense planning and preparation ready to be unleashed on the lucky British public on the final Saturday of the month - January 26 at Nantmawr Quarry, Oswestry, Shropshire.
The line up
THE UK's World-conquering off-road star David Knight will be trying to take his factory KTM to a fourth straight ‘Tough One' win. Knight is confirmed and rides with the number one plate.
Making things difficult for the super-human Manxman will be a very strong contingent of Britain's best off-road riders, including current British Enduro Champion, Tom Sagar, and extreme specialist and former Hells Gate winner, Wayne Braybrook.
Four-times World Enduro Champion, Paul Edmondson, and a whole host of top names that reads like a who's who of the British Enduro scene will also do their best to derail Knighter's ambitions.
But one name that the fans will be wishing to see on the list is that of young Polish KTM extreme star, Taddy Blazusiak.
He is confirmed and will ride with number five plate on his factory extreme bike. The current Erzberg champion has just recently added the Vegas indoor crown and the coveted ‘Last Man Standing' titles to his growing list of achievements, making him a true Extreme specialist and world renowned off-road star.
If anyone can take the Tough One title from David Knight, it's the wiry 24-year-old former trials rider who has a style all of his own with some very impressive speed thrown into the mix.
The event
NOWHERE in the UK next year will you be able to see these two Extreme Enduro specialists do battle with each other in an enclosed area with fantastic viewing and close-up action, other than The WOR Tough One at Nantmawr Quarry.
The event has grown in stature over the past three-years and now stands alone as Britain's top spectator Enduro fest, rubbing shoulders with all of Europe and America's top extreme events.
The Expert and Clubman classes are both packed full. With the Expert class running in the same main event as the Pros, that leaves the Clubmen with a 1.5-hour event of their own which opens the day's proceedings at 9.30am.
The Gas Gas UK Speed Trial – fantastic last year! – is back with a full quality entry that will race for an extra 30-minutes over last year, meaning a 1.5-hour battle for the likes of Steve Colley, Graham Jarvis, Alexz Wigg and Shaun Morris to name but a few. This will start at 12.30pm.
The top trials rider will get the chance to ride the first hour of the main Tough One Extreme Sprint Scramble. If he is leading at that point he will have earned himself a further £1,000 and one hell of a reputation!
This is going to happen due to the buzz and hype surrounding Steve Colley's win at last year's event and the public's ...he could have won the main event! quotes.
The organisers have brought in some subtle changes for the main event this year- ones which are hoped will ensure even more value for money for the thousands of spectators that are expected to flock into the Shropshire quarry venue.
