Wigg never tyres

ALEXZ Wigg, the World Junior Trials Champion, will be chief guest at a special function in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, on Friday, November 13.
Wigg has agreed to present a plethora of medals to a wide cross-section of trials riders. It's thanks to the off-road section of the Mid-Antrim club in conjunction with the MCUI trials committee that 19-year-old Wigg will be appearing at the Michelin Athletic Club in Ballymena.
Wigg of course is fortunate in having multi Ulster and Irish champ Harold Crawford as his assistant at world level. Harold also contested both the British and World championships back in the 1980s and 90s.
On the evening all Ulster Championship medals will be awarded as well as any Ulster Centre competitors who were successful in the Irish Championship. The awards for the Michelin Tyres sponsored Club Championship will be presented to the deserving riders as well as the coveted Mackness Slemish Cup and the brand new Shane Cup. In the Michelin club championship the final placings are George Robinson 68 points, Paul Harvey 47, John Heenan 46, Robbie Jennings 39, Michelle Hanlon 36 and Trevor Cathcart 32.
The Shane Cup trial was the first event ever promoted by the newly formed Mid Antrim Motor Club on December 7, 1946. It was won by Terry Hill riding a BSA but the original trophy disappeared many years ago. Now the Crawford family, which has been synonymous with the Mid-Antrim club for 40-years, has decided to donate a new Shane Cup to the club, in memory of their son Barrie. This new trophy will be presented at the awards evening.
The cost of the evening will be 8 for adults and 5 for children. This ticket price covers an impressive buffet and the evening's musical entertainment. Anyone wishing to attend please e-mail john@mamc bikes.co.uk with approximate numbers as soon as possible. The organisers are hoping for a great attendance as a big effort is being made.
