JAMES Dabill, fresh from his epic British Championship win now has to get his head round a trad-nat trials course when he rides the old established top quality Jack Wood Trophy Trial, to be staged west of Sheffield on Sunday morning and with a full-house 180 strong entry writes Barry Robinson.
Dibs will have his Gas Gas UK boss, John Shirt, as his rear gunner on the one-lap, 50-section course based on West Nab, on the hilltop above High Bradfield.
Right on Dabill's case will be his best pal Michael Brown and the factory Sherco while looking to mix it with the young top guns will be Dan Thorpe, Chris Pearson, Richard Timperley and Dan Farrer. Stir in the likes of Lee Sampson, Phil Disney, Jonathan Richardson, Ian Austermuhle and Sam Ludgate and you can see that the Jack Wood really is star studded.
The Clubman element is also top drawer packing in no fewer than 156 entries. Emma Bristow, Maria Conway and Katy Sunter head the Ladies who are all capable of holding their own come the final results. In fact Maria will be issuing the riding numbers at the start with Will Longden before grabbing her bike so if the face looks familiar when you sign-on don't be surprised.
The Jack Wood official programme, which you can grab at the start, contains the full course and entry details and PLEASE pay particular attention to the section list which mentions the no-go areas for spectators. These areas are critical for the continuance of this fine trial. Start time is as usual a bright and breezy 9am.
