TEAM Yoshimura Suzuki's Dustin Wimmer walked away with his fourth overall win at this weekend's seventh round of the ITP Tires/ Moose Racing AMA/ ATVA National Motocross Championship at Unadilla MX in New Berlin, New York.Wimmer went into the race with the fastest qualifying time on Saturday and followed up on Sunday with a consistent 2-2 moto score for the overall win. The Can-Am team was also celebrating a double win with Jeremy Lawson taking victory in the first race and John Natalie the second. Honda's Joe Byrd played the Wimmer consistency game, taking two third places
Sunday's two motos offered varied challenges to the riders. Soaring high temperatures mixed with increasing humidity spawned heavy intermittent afternoon showers and a muddy track for the second moto.
Team manager, Kory Ellis, said: "Dustin ran a smart race today. He had good starts in both motos and ran two consistent races. This is how you need to ride in order to win a championship."
Wimmer now holds a 61-point lead in the series overall while Suzuki continues its dominance of the Manufacturers' Cup.
