PAUL Winrow leads a small British entry across the water for the Le Touquet Quad Beach-race on Saturday, and has decided to race alone in the event that pitches two-man teams against the solo' hard men.

Winrow (pictured at Le Touquet last year) has been getting in plenty of sand practice at the Dunkirk practice track over recent weeks and having worn out two motors will have a fresh Steve Clitheroe-prepared power-plant in his Interlock Honda TRX for the big season opener.
With British Champion, John Mitchell, giving the French classic event a miss this year, Winrow offers the only realistic hope of a British victory and his decision to go it alone could well prove to be a clever tactic.
