X-Fighters light up the Heights
By TMX Archives on 23rd Jul 09

NOT content with just laying on a triple-header weekend, the MC Federation really pulled out the stops and got the Red Bull X-Fighters Exhibition tour along to add a real festival feel at Canada Heights over the weekend. The Fuchs-Silkolene British Two-stroke Championship, Girlracer Women's Nationals and the Red Bull Pro Nationals were given an extra injection of adrenalin as the FMX lads laid on a slick show for the 3,500 fans in attendance.
After touring in the week leading into the event in Leeds, Cardiff, Glasgow and Birmingham and drawing in 6,000 plus at each event Nick Franklin, Chris Birch and the affectionately named Frog and Flap' had the crowd pumping with their varying tricks but really brought the house down when they back-flipped, mostly because they were nearly getting blown off the ramp by the wind that had whipped up!
Even most of the pro racers stood by watching mouth open as the FMX stars had their moment.
The tour is promotong the big gig at Battersea Power station on August 22 as the X-Fighters world tour comes to London. Robbie Maddison recently jumped London's Tower Bridge to cause a stir and with the UK's Chris Birch taking part there will be a British interest in what is set to be an amazing spectacle at an iconic London landmark.
Just one week before the big Battersea competition, the Red Bull X-Fighters Exhibition tour will be back at Canada Heights once again on August 15/16 as part of the next Red Bull Pro Nationals that will also see the best Youth racers in the country racing in the Red Bull Elite Youth Cup as the MCF get ready for another memorable weekend.
You can even win two tickets for the X-Fighters and a signed set of Stephen Sword's race kit courtesy of the MC Federation.
