Back with a vengeance

News Arenacross Enduro Motocross Supercross Trials

Since May 1977, Trials & Motocross News has educated and entertained the nation with all the goings on in the off-road motorcycle sports universe. In October last year, the iconic weekly newspaper ceased publication with issue 2323 being the last. However, that’s not where the story ends and the good news is that TMX will be back in 2023 with a focussed, motivated and fresh new publisher that will deliver a brand-new look that is sure to resonate with readers old and new.

Now under the ownership of award-winning publisher WW Magazines, TMX will be a glossy A4 monthly that delivers everything essential – and more – than it did before both in print and online at www.tmxnews.co.uk. There’s also the added bonus that the new-look TMX will incorporate Dirt Bike Rider – another iconic off-road motorcycle sport publication and brand that served this market and has a huge online following of readers from around the world – creating the ultimate combination of coverage for all true off-road fans.

The reader experience is highly important to WW Magazines’ Publisher, Peter Johns. “We are always mindful that the magazines are not ‘ours’, they belong to our readers, and crucially we will strive to remember that, increasingly, we have an audience rather than a readership – we all follow our passions in different ways – not just print but endless digital formats. We aim to keep TMX moving forward and reflect these changes. Don’t be afraid to tell us what you think – challenge us continually! And watch this space for more news”.

So just what can readers of the relaunched read expect? The TMX experience will include a stack of creative content from a writing team that contains the most authoritative, opinionated and engaging voices in the sport today. Those wise words will be visually backed by the world’s greatest trials, motocross and enduro photographers with it all presented in an exciting new format that looks and reads way better than ever before. That’s quite some claim it’s true and it may not be believed until it is seen but when it is the audience will be blown away.

TMX will contain news and reports from all the events that matter on the local, national and international stage. Plus, the editorial team will continuously look closely at the trending athletes, hot new products and technologically groundbreaking machinery to give readers full access to the world of off-road sports as well as remind them what events are coming up and why they need to be at them.

Continuing to lead the editorial team through the relaunch process will be long-serving TMX – and former Dirt Bike Rider – Editor Anthony Sutton. “Having the opportunity to breathe new life into an iconic product like TMX with the full support of the highly motivated and skilled specialist team at WW Magazines is an amazing opportunity and I really can’t wait to see the new-look TMX on newsagents’ shelves. Okay, it might not be the TMX that people have been used to seeing for the past 45 years but in essence, the TMX spirit remains very much intact and the product will stay loyal to its roots – it’ll just look so much better printed on high-quality paper rather than newsprint.”

Promising to be an all-encompassing read generated by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, the new dawn for TMX is looking remarkably bright and not just for the readers as Commercial Director Rachael Grignon explains. “Our approach is to work closely with our commercial partners to devise bespoke support packages that harness all ways of reaching our audiences. We are really excited to start engaging and working with businesses and organisations in this sector to take the legacy of TMX and Dirt Bike Rider to new heights as the go-to publication, website and media channels for the community.”
