Crendon Tru7 Honda’s Conrad Mewse is all set to return to the ACU British Arenacross Championship this weekend (Saturday, January 18) having missed the opening round of the championship and allowed his series rivals to open a sizable points lead in the six-round tour.

Conrad was considered a favourite to take the British Championship title and also feature high up in the AX World Tour having put in plenty of hard hours in preparation for 2025 but picked up a shoulder injury just a few days before the season-opener that was held at Birmingham’s BP Pulse Live Arena. Dean Wilson (Armor Vision/St Blazey Honda) took the British Championship win there ahead of inaugural Arenacross champion Adam Chatfield (S Briggs Honda) and Stark Future’s Eddie Wade.

With Wembley’s OVO Arena next on the schedule, a fully fit Mewse knows he must win if he’s to put himself in contention to take the only major title in British motocross that has so far eluded him. And he’s not the only one that needs a strong performance as reigning champion Jack Brunell (Stark Future) and 2023 champion Tommy Searle (Dirt Store Triumph) both had tough nights in Birmingham and head to round two further back in the series standings than they would have liked to be.

While Dean Wilson appears to be sitting pretty at the front of the pack, the frenetic nature of Arenacross racing means that nothing is guaranteed and the tight layout of Wembley and the slippery soil that is normally used in that arena only adds to the chances of something strange happening as we’ve seen so many times in the past.

The best way to watch the action is live in the arena – and tickets are still available here – or if you’re unable to make it to London this weekend, you can sign up to enjoy the live stream right here. For more information check out www.axworldtour.com.
