The British Arenacross Championship has received a major boost with confirmation that newly crowned AUS-X Australian Supercross Champion - and former AMA Motocross title holder - Dean Wilson will return to the UK this winter to defend his Arenacross title.

Racing once again for the Armor Vision St Blazey Honda team, the Scottish-born star is well-versed in the intense, close-contact racing that defines Arenacross. His 2025 campaign was nothing short of dominant, showcasing a blend of composure and aggression that consistently placed him at the front of the pack. Across every round, Wilson adapted brilliantly to the tight indoor layouts and delivered the kind of standout performances that kept crowds on their feet.

“2025 was a learning year for me with Arenacross, and being home racing for the first time in decades was really something special,” reflected Deano on his title-winning season. “Taking the British Championship title was great for me, Steve (Anear), Mark (Chamberlain) and the St Blazey Honda team. I’m excited to return home and looking forward to seeing all the British fans at round one in Birmingham on January 31.”

Adding even more strength to the St Blazey Honda line-up for 2026 is Northern Irish Arenacross veteran Martin Barr, whose performances last season reminded fans why he remains one of the most respected riders in the paddock. His return is sure to energise the Belfast rounds in particular.

“We are just delighted to be able to bring Dean back over to defend his British AX title,” said team owner Steve Annear. “For a small MX shop in deepest Cornwall to have a global superstar like Dean choosing us over other bigger teams speaks volumes for the vibe we had last year. To be able to add Martin Barr to the team for this year is really exciting and we can’t wait for the series to start.”

The partnership also marks a milestone moment for Armor Vision, long-time supporters of the Arenacross series.

“We’re really pleased to have Deano come over again for AX,” co-founder Mark Chamberlain commented. “Armor Vision has supported the series since we first started the company, so to continue that journey and have Deano representing both the team and the brand is great news.”

Arenacross promoter Matt Bates added that Wilson’s popularity has only continued to rise.

“It was always my ambition to see Deano back home racing in front of a British audience, so last year was so special. Since he won our championship back in March, his popularity has taken a meteoric rise - winning both Brazilian and Australian Supercross titles, as well as his hugely popular fill-in ride for Jett Lawrence in the US AMA Supercross Championship. Despite being semi-retired, he’s still one of the fastest and most popular riders in the world.”

Fans won’t have to wait long to see Wilson in action. The 2026 British Arenacross Championship kicks off on January 31, at the bp pulse LIVE Arena in Birmingham, before moving to Belfast’s SSE Arena on February 13-14 .
