Ducati has officially entered the enduro market with the launch of its all-new Desmo450 EDS, marking a significant expansion of the Italian manufacturer’s off-road ambitions

Built from the foundation of the Desmo450 MX motocross machine, the EDS has been extensively reworked to meet the demands of enduro riding, with a focus on durability, versatility and rider control across varied terrain. The bike features a revised chassis setup, including 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels wrapped in Metzeler Six Days Extreme tyres, while an enlarged 8.5-litre fuel tank boosts range for longer stages.

At the heart of the machine is a redesigned 449.6cc single-cylinder engine with Ducati’s signature desmodromic valve system. Engine characteristics have been tailored specifically for enduro, delivering stronger low- and mid-range torque alongside smoother, more manageable power delivery - key for technical sections and unpredictable conditions.

The aluminium perimeter frame has also been refined, weighing under nine kg and constructed from just 11 components to balance strength, rigidity and minimal weight. Suspension comes courtesy of Showa, with a new 49mm fork and dedicated settings developed alongside experienced test riders to improve bump absorption and rider confidence.

Ducati has placed particular emphasis on protection and reliability, equipping the bike with integrated guards and an upgraded cooling system featuring an electric fan for consistent performance in extreme conditions.

A comprehensive electronics package is available via the optional Ducati Performance racing kit, including traction control, launch control and adjustable riding modes.

The Desmo450 EDS will arrive in selected European dealerships from July 2026, with global availability to follow.
