Five in a row for Lettenbichler at Erzberg
By Team TMX on 8th Jun 26
Manuel Lettenbichler etched his name even deeper into hard enduro history with a fifth consecutive victory at the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo, matching the all-time record with another commanding display aboard his KTM 300 EXC.
The German took control of the Red Bull Hare Scramble early and never looked back, ultimately crossing the line almost nine minutes clear of FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart to secure a dominant KTM 1-2 at the world’s toughest one-day enduro.
Starting from pole after placing fourth in the Iron Road Prologue, Lettenbichler wasted little time moving to the front. Running second through the opening checkpoints, he hit the lead by checkpoint four and immediately began to break the race open.
By checkpoint 13, Mani had stretched his advantage to 40 seconds. Five checkpoints later, it was five minutes. Through the brutal centrepiece sections—Carl’s Dinner, Dynamite and Lazy Noon—he was simply untouchable.
At Carl’s Dinner, the lead had ballooned to 12 minutes. Even with the punishing terrain taking its toll on the field, Lettenbichler remained flawless, managing the race to the finish to secure a record-equalling fifth straight win.
“I have no words,” said Lettenbichler. “Five wins at Erzberg - it’s unbelievable. I got into a good rhythm early on and once I found my flow, I just focused on staying consistent and enjoying the race. To make it five in a row and equal the record… it’s incredible.”
Behind him, Trystan Hart delivered a measured and determined ride to claim second overall. The Canadian moved into podium contention early, climbed to second by checkpoint 11, and despite briefly dropping back, regrouped to secure the position after a hard-fought battle with Mitch Brightmore.
Hart maintained his pace through the closing stages to comfortably hold on to second, capping a strong performance in one of the most physically demanding races on the calendar.
“I’m happy with second,” said Hart. “It was a really tough race and not everything went smoothly, but I kept pushing. There are things to improve, but we’ll take the positives and come back stronger.”
Mario Roman completed the podium in third, with Teodor Kabakchiev and Brightmore rounding out the top five.
