Team France took an emphatic home victory at Ernee in the 2023 FIM Motocross of Nations. The all-world champion squad of Romain Febvre, Tom Vialle and Maxime Renaux dominated the competition from the off with Febvre winning race one (MXGP/MX2) while Vialle was the top MX2 rider in eighth. Race two (MX2/Open) saw Renaux and Vialle run 1-2 at the head of the pack which more or less assured them of victory ahead of the final race of the day. In that MXGP/Open clash, a third for Renaux and seventh for Febvre both counted towards France’s final score of 14 which put them comfortable ahead of Team Australia (brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence along with Dean Ferris) in the final team classification.

A strong performance from Team Italy (Alberto Forato, Andrea Adamo and Andrea Bonacorsi) saw them secure the final spot on the podium ahead of Germany (Ken Roczen, Simon Laengenfelder and Tom Koch) and Belgium (Jago Geerts, Lucas Coenen and Liam Everts).

Team Great Britain bagged 10th overall (sandwiched between Slovenia and Estonia) with Ben Watson, Josh Gilbert and Conrad Mewse battling hard for King and Country. Team Ireland was unfortunate not to qualify directly to Sunday’s main event from the Saturday Qualifiers and then had a tough time in the B-Final. Jason Meara was the team’s top performer finishing sixth as Martin Barr and Glenn McCormick both hit trouble in the early morning bash for the final qualifying position.
