2025 Hawkstone International lurking on the horizon
By Team TMX on 30th Jan 25

The Ashbrook Hawkstone International powered by Syntol Lubricants is fast approaching with Sunday, February 9, the date you need to head to the iconic Shropshire sand circuit of Hawkstone Park for the very best pre-season motocross race on the plant.
World champions Romain Febvre, Pauls Jonass and Maxime Renaux head the MX1 entry list with the enigmatic Glenn Coldenhoff and injury-prone Jago Geerts also in the hunt to top the podium. Conrad Mewse will be looking to give the British fans plenty to get excited about while Joel Rizzi will debut the 450 Triumph in the MX1 races.
Reigning MX2 world champ Kay de Wolf is the man to beat in the MX2 class although he might not have it all his own way as GP stars Mathis Valin and David Braceras are also headed to Hawkstone along with a load of local talent including Billy Askew, Reece Jones, Ben Mustoe, Joe Brookes and Josh Vail will also be looking to start the year with strong rides as will SS24 Gabriel Pairing Max Werner and Gyan Doensen.
Matterey Basin bLU cRU YZ125 Cup final winner Jamie Keith is the leading local in the EMX125 class but with plenty of overseas and British talent in the mix there are no guarantees.
The action at Hawkstone Park kicks off at 9am with EMX125 practice and qualifying and continues through the day with two races for the MX1 class, two for MX2 and three for the 125cc two-strokes ahead of the 25-minute plus two lap MX1/MX2 Superfinal that kicks off at 4pm. Admission to the event costs £40 for adults, £5 for children under 15 with accompanied under fives getting in for free. Tickets are only available on the gate and due to connection issues for card readers cash is king.
Hawkstone Park is quite centrally located in the UK – 12 miles north of Shrewsbury in Shropshire. The track is more or less slap bang between the A49 and A53 on an unclassified and unnamed road. From the A53 it’s signposted Lee Brockhurst while from the A49 it’s Booley Stanton. However, it’s also signposted West Midlands Shooting Ground from both directions so that’s something you can rely on. Whatever you do don’t follow the signs for Hawkstone Park as you’ll either end up at a Golf Course or the Follies – a grand day out but not the grand day out you’re looking for. SY4 4NA is the postcode you’re looking for.
