A Peace of the action

ON Sunday, Luke Walker, who comes from Leicester, and local lad Dan Peace, from nearby Pickering, ran out clear winners in their respective classes at the opening round of the ACU Youth C&D Trials Championship at Harwood Dale, Scarborough.
The other half of the Peace duo, Jack, had to fight every inch of the way in Youth D Small-wheel as a confident and determined Aldis Blacker, from Ripon, rode the huge rocks with consistency on his beautiful little TY Yamaha.
In Youth C, Walker showed his authority and intent as early as the first lap, never losing a mark until the difficult twisting rocks of section seven. Walker was looking smooth, but resorted to two dabs as he exited. Jack Stones had a scrappy three, while Yeovil's Jack Burch fived, as did the usually bubbly Joe Clements, Chris Alford and Brad Allen along with a host of others. County Durham rider Rob Waite was brilliant here on his first lap, losing just a dab. Walker completed his first lap on four, followed closely by Burch on six, with Iwan Roberts and Stones on ten apiece and Waite on 11.
But Walker looked full of confidence and was setting himself up for the win. He and Burch were majestic on the big awkward steps of number nine and they were the only ones to stay clean on this one. Concentration showed on every section as he blitzed his second lap, losing only a dab on section four.
