Kev sails into Port
By Alex Hodgkinson on 27th Apr 07

KEVIN Strijbos took the trophy if not a chunk out of Josh Coppins' World MX1 championship points lead at Agueda, Portugal, on Sunday, but Toni Cairoli kept on winning in MX2 as Tommy Searle snatched his first podium for the KTM team with second overall.
Crashes cost Billy MacKenzie dear after he had again shown podium pace and James Noble was on the verge of his first GP podium until he got taken out by a Frenchman in MX1, while Searle was not our only hero in MX2, Gareth Swanepoel getting back in the chase with a fourth in race one, Shaun Simpson taking a career best seventh in race two, and there were points for Carl Nunn, Tom Church and Sean Hamblin too, as well as Ken De Dycker and Mike Brown in MX1.
