A wild day at Wilden!
By TMX Archives on 11th Jan 07
ON a very dark, dismal rainy day, it was left to the racing to bring a smile to the face at the first Wilden Lane Open meeting of 2007.
Corrie Southwood was the first to illuminate the day in the Junior 65cc class. He took all three race wins in devastating fashion winning by some huge margins.
Behind him the action was closer as Jordan Pyne Liam Knight, and the unlucky Sam Wragg fought it out for the other placings.
In the Small-wheel 85cc section it was always going to be something of a close run affair between Scott Aldridge and Dan Thornhill. Dan took the last race win in some style as Scott's clutch began to fail.
However, it was Scott who had won races one and two, and with it the overall, as Dan fell foul of the tricky conditions while leading on both occasions. Jack Timms put in another fine performance to secure third.
