Two of the ACU's National Motocross Championships are set to visit Cusses Gorse, nr Amesbury for the very first time on consecutive weekends in August 2008. The Moggstar ACU BYMX Championship is scheduled to run on 23rd/24th August and the ACU British MMX Championship a week later on 31st August.

All riders entering the events can expect to be greeted with first class track conditions as the venue, up until now a practice track, has been designed and built by Justin Barclay, builder of the last three British MXGP tracks at Matterley Basin, Donington and Mallory Park.

Brian Higgins commented, "We looked at the possibility of running one of the Maxxis ACU British Championship rounds there this season, but unfortunately the large car park field had already been ploughed. With the harvest season complete by August this will make a first class venue for both events”.

Whilst the closing date for entries is at the end of July, there may well be some spaces remaining, any rider considering entering the event should let the ACU Motocross section know on 01788 566404/566422, or via e-mail moto.cross@acu.org.uk ASAP, because all non registered riders will be treated on a ‘first come first served' basis.

Entry for non registered riders in the Moggstar ACU BYMX Championship will be £60 for any class, Autos, 6-8 years; 65cc, 7-10 years; SW85, 9-12 years; BW85, 11-15 years and Open Class, 14-17 years.

The ACU British MMX Championship meeting was originally scheduled to have the Final Round of the new British Ladies MX Championship, but due to a date clash with the BSMA/AMCA's established event this was dropped and rescheduled to take place at the final Maxxis ACU British MX Championship.  Taking its place at Cusses Gorse will now be an Allcomer's Support Race, open to both Experts and juniors riding Open class machines.  Entries into this will cost £40 and are now available from the Motocross section.

In the event of places for the Under 21 & Open Class Championships still being available, after the 31st July closing date, non registered riders will once again be able to enter on a ‘first come first served' basis, cost £80.
