AMCA News: Harris leads Bever charge

The superb Bevercotes circuit plays host to round four of the AMCA Two-stroke and Veteran Championship this Sunday.

Having bagged three consecutive titles, Adam Harris leads the 2T charge at present 74-points clear of his closest challenger James Lane.

In the nine motos completed so far, Harris has won eight, his only defeat coming in the opening race at Babell during round two.

After a great performance at Foxhill during the most recent action when he blasted his Kawasaki to a podium placing, Matthew Bath has jumped up to third in the standings just ahead of Ashley Wilson.

At present Wilson is really enjoying his 2T campaign, also topping the separately scored class for 125cc competitors.

Completing the top ten following some great early action in the hard fought 2T exchanges are Joe Higgins, Mark Bayliss, Archie Knight, Sam Callow, the injured Josh Williams and Oliver Roddick.

Over in the Veteran series, defending champion Simon Lane scorched to maximum points at Foxhill. That big points haul as seen Lane build a 45-point advantage at the top of the standings, but he has the determined Martin Atherton, Garry Jones and Garry J Williams all hot on his tail and all capable of recording a moto win.

Other riders worth watching at Bevercotes include Julian Freeberne, Brian Staples who was third overall at Foxhill, Richard Brown, Sean Smith and Shaun Hayles.

The Bevercotes venue will be signposted from Ollerton Island on the A61 road.
