Bad break for Ben Watson

Ben Watson faces several weeks out of action after breaking three bones in the instep of his left foot during Sunday morning warm-up in Argentina.

"I don't really know what happened,” he said. "I don't even know how long I was lying there after being knocked out for a while.”

The young Brit appeared to lose the front wheel in soft dirt as he went to scrub the same downhill jump that claimed Tony Cairoli last year.

"There was a hard lip on take-off there so I guess that sent me over the bars.”

With his leg set in plaster to the knee the next concern was the plane home.

"The doctor has put felt in the plaster so that it can absorb any swelling and given me a note to say it's okay to fly so we'll hope for the best.”
