KIWI speedway legend Barry Briggs will be the guest of honour at next years Telford Classic Off Road Show.
The four-time world champion – who at 80 years old is still a regular rider – will also be one of four star speakers at the show's Saturday evening dinner when he joins Jimmy Aird, Wayne Le Marquand and Nick Jefferies behind the microphone.
"I have so many tales to tell,” said Briggs, who now lives in California.
"I will make a shilling and have you in stitches. We might start with diamond mining in the jungles of Liberia or what about teaching Steve McQueen and Roger De Coster how to ride speedway?
Who knows?
"I have some vivid recollections of my first world crown at Wembley Stadium in 1957 when I beat Ove Fundin and painful memories of my last world final in 1972 when I was taken to hospital after a crash with Bernt Persson which ended my professional career.”
Tickets for the four-course dinner are now available priced at £29.50. To book yours call 01507 529529. For stand space and to discuss display bikes contact Richard Graham on 01507 529470.
The Telford Classic Off Road Show takes place over the weekend of February 20-21.
