Fans favourite, and 2011 Maxxis MX1, Red Bull Pro National and British Masters champion, Brad Anderson has shocked the motocross world by announcing a move down under, having signed a deal with Carlton Dry Honda, the official Australia racing team for 2012.

Printed below is a press release:

Having raced previously in Australia with great success during a brief trip in 2010, which saw him win at the Raymond Terrace National event and also the prestigious Manjimup 1500, this attracted the attentions of many Australian teams. Continued success during 2011 saw him dominate domestic motocross in the UK by winning all three major national championships (the Maxxis British Championship, Red Bull Pro Nationals and the Wulfsport British Masters), combined with a fantastic performance at the British round of the World Championships and at the Motocross of Nations.

This made Brad a highly sought after rider for 2012 and after an offer was made by the Carlton Dry Honda Team, he felt it was too good an opportunity to turn down at this stage of his career, Brad had this to say "Winning the British Championship, the Red Bull Pro Nationals and British Masters was amazing, I have enjoyed my time with the PAR Honda team thoroughly and I wouldn't have had the success that I have achieved without all their support, especially Paul, Geoff and Neil, but I was looking for a new challenge. Racing in Australia last year was terrific and I am really excited to be going back for 2012 and joining Carlton Dry Honda to race the entire championship. It is a big move – myself, my wife Hayley and my dog will be over for the new year and we're very much looking forward to what 2012 brings."

Carlton Dry Honda Team Principal Yarrive Konsky was equally enthusiastic when announcing the signing of Brad, "Brad has been on our radar since he came over last year and rode so well at Raymond Terrace, his work ethic and dedication fits the team well and we are eager to start working with the British champion ahead of the 2012 season."

Also excited about the signing of Brad for 2012 was Honda Motorcycles Australia General Manager, Tony Hinton, "We are really pleased to have been able to secure Brad Anderson for the 2012 season and have him come on board with the Carlton Dry Honda Racing Team, with his wealth of experience both here and internationally we know he will be an inspiring member of the team and will help put them in a good position to challenge for the title in 2012."
