TAS Suzuki MX has today announced the signing of 2009 British MX2 Champion Stephen Sword, joining the team to contest the 2012 British MX1 championship and the Red Bull Pro Nationals series.

Following the team's first year back in the British Motocross Championship, the TAS team look towards a heightened effort for 2012, with the signing of Sword and a high-profile, yet to be confirmed MX2 team-mate.

Adam Lyons, team manager, commented, "Naturally we're delighted to secure the services of Stephen so early on. We all know he's the real deal and a great talent to spearhead our MX1 campaign next season. Stephen is without a doubt one of the best riders to come out of the UK, and takes his racing incredibly seriously. It's fair to say that we're feeling very optimistic about our second year back in MX."

Stephen Sword added:"Signing for the TAS team was a no-brainer really. These guys have shown what a professional outfit they are in their first year back, and with the official backing of Suzuki and the RM-Z450 as a race bike, that's got such a great track record, I'm feeling very upbeat about next season already."

Sword will make his debut for the TAS Suzuki team at the first round of the British Supercross Championship, held at Sheffield Arena on 22nd October.
