RHL Activities has announced a date change for the MXGB series following the world championship calendar revision announced yesterday.
In a statement from MXGB's rights holder, RHL said to avoid any date clashes with the FIM Motocross World Championship, the planned April 2-3 event will be moved to July 9-10. The change came after discussions with members of the Infront Moto Racing team. In addition, RHL has added the weekend of August 13-14 to the calendar for a standalone youth round.
"I fully appreciate a date change isn't ideal at this stage; however, this is unavoidable as we try to avoid clashing," said RHL's head honcho Gareth Hockey.
"As previously stated, any date amendments following the 31st January 2022 by the World Championship calendar will not result in any changes to the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship."
That comment from Hockey means the calendar below could well be the final draft for MXGB's 2022 season.
The 2022 Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels dates are as follows:
12th & 13th March
17th April
8th May
22nd May
19th June
9th & 10th July
30th & 31st July
13th & 14th August (Youth Only Event)
10th & 11th September
Reserve Date 1st & 2nd October
RHL Activities has been drip-feeding venues into the public domain over the last few weeks so, as yet, we don't have a clear picture of the 2022 MXGB calendar, even though it gets underway in less than two months.
We now know four venues for the official British championships, which starts at Culham on March 13-13.
The 65, SW85, BW85, 125 & 250, WMX (*subject to enough entries), MX1 and MX2 will all kick start their seasons at the popular venue.
The intertwining, elevated circuit of Cadders Hill, Lyng will host a round on May 8. The circuit near Norwich, which is run and maintained by the Norwich Viking Motorcycle Club, will host the 125 & 250, WMX*, MX2 and MX1 classes at the former Grand Prix circuit.
Blaxhall will host a round on June 19 with MX1, MX2, 125 & 250 and BW85 in action as the organisers reverse the circuit for 2022.
The fourth circuit announced is Whitby for July 30-31, which will host 65, SW85, BW85, 125 & 250, alongside the long-awaited return of MX1 and MX2.
