British rule roost at IMBA round

WITH nearby Tenbury Wells hitting the National headlines, due to severe flooding, and more heavy rain predicted for the weekend, Kinver Auto club faced a serious soul searching decision. Should they pull the plug on the IMBA Open European championship round at Upton Court Farm, or after months of hard work and preparation play poker with the weather gods and gamble?

The club decided to run the event. Was it worth it? You bet it was! Yes, competitors had to be towed into and out of the pits area, a new spectator parking area had to be quickly arranged, but the racing produced a simply glorious result.

On the Upton Court Farm circuit, which creates a remarkable lap time of nearly three minutes, the British riders delivered sensational performances with only current IMBA series leader, Belgian Christophe Descamps, preventing a top six whitewash...
