Motocross

WAYNE Smith on the PAR Homes Honda stretched his lead still further at the top of the CCM British Four-stroke championship by taking the overall at round five of the championship at Torrington, North Devon, as reigning champion Brad Anderson suffered yet another DNF on his Pioneer Yamaha.

In the PAR Homes Under-21 series, Ray Rowson continued his winning ways by taking another two convincing wins aboard his Molson Kawasaki, while in the Quad championship Paul Winrow on his Interlock Lonestar Honda took the top step on the podium for the first time in what seems like an age as a win and a second place gave him the overall and moves him to within points of the serieslead.
The organising Torridge club just doesn't have any luck as, like last year, rain started to fall on Saturday and kept falling til halfway through Sunday morning, turning the paddock area into a boggy mess.
But, they also know the track and took the brave deciusion to go ahead with the meeting and were rewarded as the sun even made an occasional appearance, even if the track was a bit 'one-lined'.
