Whitby Preview: Judd KTM British Youth Championship

This weekend (June 8-9) the Skelder Bank circuit in Whitby will play host to the second round of the ACU Judd KTM British Youth Motocross Championship where the UKs very best junior riders
will be eager to continue their 2019 racing campaigns.
Whitby is a hardpack track and has in previous years held prestigious events such as a round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, along with many national and club level races.
The circuit offers great viewing for spectators in front of the impressive backdrop of Whitby bay.
The Skelder Bank track is widely recognised as one of the best venues in the North East and is always popular with both the riders and race fans alike.
Heading into the weekend Robbie Daly, Max Harris, Finley Evans, Charlie Heyman, Preston Williams and Dominic Lancett are the leaders of their respective classes, and their goal will be to
retain their championship red plates.
With sunny weather predicted among a few light showers, its hoped the track will be technical and will offer some great racing lines for the youngsters, who race in classes from the Autos right up to the Open category, to help with their learning process while creating some fantastic battles.
The Judd KTM British Youth National Championship travels across the UK in a six-round series with a variety of surfaces at top-level venues for the young-guns to learn their craft. These
youngsters are the next generation of talent for Great Britain, and RHL is constantly working to find ways to help nurture these riders in a bid to develop the next British World Champion.
In addition to the main championship classes and the ACU British Rookie championship introduced this year, at each race the SCOTT Sports Holeshot Awards and 24MX spot prizes are also up for grabs. With lots of additional incentives for riders throughout the classes, the young racers will be competing not just for their overall category championships, but much more.
Director of RHL Activities Gareth Hockey: "We are looking forward to Whitby this weekend for the second round of the 2019 Judd KTM British Youth National Championship. With the original second-round postponed due to poor weather, its been a while since the youngsters have battled together and I am sure many will be eager to put on a good show.
"It is the first time the British Youth Motocross Championship will have raced at the Skelder Bank circuit and I am certainly looking forward to watching the countrys best youth riders at this track, and seeing what they can achieve this weekend in their 2019 championship campaigns. Its a long Championship with six rounds, but every moto matters. We have a lot on offer to incentivise the youngsters, and with the forecast looking good we hope that the track comes up well for some top-level racing."
