The 2025 SQXoN held in Heerde, Netherlands, was dominated by the home team as Tim Leferink/ Jens Vincent, Stephan Wijer/ Hal van Hal and freshly crowned world champions Koen Hermans/ Ben van den Bogaart, ended the day with a prefect scorecard as they secured victory in front of a passionate crowd.

While the home favourites lived up to expectations with a dominant display, Team GB delivered one of their strongest performances in recent years – with Brett Wilkinson/ Joe Millard, Dan Foden/ Noah Weinmann and Mike Hodges/ Ryan Henderson all playing their part in keeping Britain right in the mix.

The British charge started brightly with Foden/ Weinmann right in the thick of it early on. The young duo muscled their way up into second place in race one before slipping back after a small mistake, still salvaging fourth at the flag. Hodges/ Henderson had a steady opener, building into the day with solid laps and banking important sixth-place points for the team effort as the hosts ran 1-2 courtesy of the Leferink/ Vincent and Wijers/ Van Hal pairings.

All eyes were on Wilkinson/ Millard in moto two. The recently crowned British Champions and World #3 rode superbly, staying calm as others faltered in the deep ruts. After Dutchmen Wijers/ Van Hal tipped over, Wilkinson/ Millard swept into second behind runaway leaders Hermans Van den Bogaart. From there, they rode smart to bring home a brilliant runner-up finish for Team GB. Foden/ Weinmann once again showed fight, battling through from a mediocre start to snatch fourth in what was a strong team effort from the Brits.

A Dutch 1-2 in the final moto punctuated the home team’s supremacy on the day but behind them the battle raged as Wilkinson/ Millard held off the Prunier brothers – Killian and Evan – while Hodges/ Henderson rode the wheel off their machine to overhaul the French Guennady Auvray/ Rodolphe Lebreton pairing to clinch fifth at the line – their best finish of the day and one that underlined their value to the team.

The Dutch were in a class of their own at home, locking out the top spots with ruthless efficiency. But Team GB’s mix of experience and youth stood tall against the sand specialists. Wilkinson/ Millard’s second and third-place finishes, Foden/ Weinmann’s consistency, and Hodges/ Henderson’s never-say-die charge in the final moto combined to keep the Union Jack well represented in the results with the British team finishing second overall.
