Buildbase Honda team up with TomTom Action Cameras
By Sean Lawless on 29th Dec 15
The Buildbase Honda team will race with cutting-edge TomTom Bandit Action Cameras in 2016 in a deal covering both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
The two-man team of Adam Chatfield and Angelo Pellegrini will contest the Monster Energy Arenacross series. Kristian Whatley, Graeme Irwin, Martin Barr and Lewis Trickett will represent the team outdoors in the major British national motocross championships.
All will use TomTom Bandit Action Cameras as part of their testing and racing programmes.
"It's a very clever bit of kit,” says team owner Dave Thorpe.
"Obviously, they're great for social media footage and raising awareness of the Buildbase Honda team but we can use the cameras when working with our riders as a very important tool too.
"We began a small relationship with TomTom at the Goodwood Festival of Speed where we used the cameras on a few of our bikes.
"There was an awful lot of interest in the cameras and that prompted me to get a deal together.
"Any new sponsor we can attract to arenacross and motocross can only be a good thing for the sport and I'm excited that our riders will be working with the TomTom Bandit Action Camera for the 2016 season.”
TomTom sees the clear benefits of working with one of the biggest and most professional teams in the UK paddock.
"TomTom is pleased to partner with Buildbase Honda, a leading team in the world of motocross,” says Simon Storey, UK Marketing Manager.
"We wish the team all the best in the season ahead.
"And we look forward to capturing and sharing their success with the Bandit Action Camera.”
