ACU Events have to announce that round two of the series, scheduled for this weekend at Canada Heights is CANCELLED...

Press release:

Members of the organising Sidcup Club, in conjunction with the Series Promoter, ACU Events, made the decision early this morning (Tuesday) after a further track inspection late on Monday, but the crunch of the decision was the amount of rainfall / snow due to fall later in the week in the Kent area.

Clerk of the Course, Dave Edwards explains, " We were not worried about the track itself as this was prepared about a month ago and sealed as far as we could with sand. We believe the track would have held up, but with the amount of rainfall still forecast, coupled with the amount of standing water currently lying in the paddock and car parks makes it impossible for us to be able to get everyone in."

There is no provision for re-scheduling any of the rounds with the possible exception of the final round so the meeting will not be re-scheduled.

Series Manager, Brian Higgins takes up the story, " The Club were in an impossible situation and I believe this is the right decision. Round one at FatCat came very close to being cancelled last Thursday morning, but the weather forecast for last Saturday and Sunday was pretty good, so with this information the event went ahead. However, for the later part of this week, every forecast is the same, heavy rain and snow on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and whilst I agree the track probably would stand up to it, towing vehicles INTO the Paddock and Car Parks is not the situation we want. I am pleased that an early decision has been made to stop Teams, Riders and Fans traveling to Kent.

The next round of the Championship is scheduled for the 7th April at Lyng in Norfolk.
