Charlie Heyman seals MXGB MX2 crown with a round to spare at Duns

SC Sporthomes Husqvarna’s Charlie Heyman wrapped up the 2026 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship MX2 title with a composed performance at the penultimate round at Duns in Scotland.
Arriving north of the border with a healthy points cushion, Heyman knew two steady rides would be enough to get the job done – and that’s exactly what he delivered. Finishes of 2-4 were more than sufficient to secure his first major pro-class crown with a round still in hand.
“It’s been such a good year, but it’s taken a lot of work from everyone – the team, my family, Neil, Clint… everyone,” said Heyman. “Neil puts so much time into it and shows me the path, and I just believe in the people around me. They trust me and I trust them.
“I won a lot of youth titles and that felt good, but this is next level. I’ve worked so hard for this. There have been ups and downs and people saying, ‘that’s not the Charlie Heyman we’re used to,’ but now I’m back – and it feels good to be on top.”
On the day, MX2 honours went to Gabriel SS24 KTM’s Gyan Doensen with consistent 3-2 finishes. Race one winner Joe Brookes (Nationwide Signs Honda) secured second overall, while Jamie Keith (Goswell Honda) claimed third after taking the race two win and edging Heyman on the tie-break.
In MX1, Conrad Mewse (Crendon Tru7 Honda) delivered a dominant double to take the overall and extend his championship advantage. Ben Watson (Dirt Store Triumph) backed him up with a pair of second-place finishes, while Oriol Oliver (Gabriel SS24 KTM) completed the podium with 3-3 results.
The RFX 125cc class also saw a title decided, with Drew Stock (JK Yamaha) claiming a double win to wrap up the championship early. Joel Winstanley-Dawson and Hayden Statt shared the remaining podium places, with Winstanley-Dawson getting the nod for second overall on the tie-break.
The series now heads to Blaxhall in Suffolk on September 27 for the final round of the 2026 championship.
