The cold snap has continued this week and has caused the cancellation of a number of events scheduled for this weekend and beyond...

Highest profile events to be cancelled include both rounds of the S3 Parts National Clubman Trials Championship scheduled for this weekend -- Sunday's National Jack Wood Trial and Monday's National Lomax Cup Trial

In addition to those a round of the British Youth C and D Class Trials series, and a National level motocross at Frome, which included the opening round of the British Clubman SidecarX series have been axed.

And the BSMA announced the postponement of its National series originally slated for this Saturday and Sunday, March 30/31. at Tunstall Hall, Market Drayton.

Also high on the list of possible cancellations was the National Lomax Trial, a round of the S3 Parts National Clubman Trials Championship, which was scheduled for Easter Monday, April 1.

The club had expressed concerns early in the week, but said that it would not make a final decision until Thursday or Friday.

On Thursday evening the club issued the following statement: "A inspection of the course for 2013 Lomax Cup Trial was made on Thursday evening by officials of Llangollen and DMCC.

"Following this inspection the decision was made to cancel the event for this year.

"The club apologies for any inconvenience this will cause, but unfortunately the arrival of snow in the last week not only hampered preparations for the trial but will not clear in time for Monday's scheduled event.

"All competitors will be contacted asap."

Julia Robinson, secretary of Richmond MC issued yet another announcement of a trial cancellation late on Wednesday evening (April 27).

Says Mrs Robinson: "Just to say that the Sid Morton Memorial Trial scheduled to take place at Fremington Edge, near Marrick on Good Friday (March 29) has been cancelled.

"The Richmond club has tried to find an alternative venue but the weather has just not been playing ball at all. Five-foot deep snowdrifts and constantly changing landscapes have created an impossible situation for us. We'd like to thank the competitors for their support and understanding.

"Obviously the club will be seeking another date for what is a major event on the calendar."
