Conrad Mewse makes first MXGP appearance of 2023

Crendon Fastrack Honda’s big red rig in the paddock has continued to see podium trophies pour in from the opening outdoor races, just as did in winning the Arenacross Team championship.
Conrad Mewse recovered from two awful starts in the opening Revo British Championship round at Oakhanger, to finish second twice to the long-gone Harri Kullas. Josh Gilbert fought hard to re-pass Shaun Simpson on the last lap of the second race, a move which secured third overall, a great result considering that Josh “was not a big fan of these conditions so to come away with a podium is a good start to the series. I didn’t feel comfortable all day, to be honest!”.
The pair were at it again the following week, with Mewse taking two commanding wins at the opening Michelin MX Nationals round.
“I had two amazing starts after working on it with the team following last week. I pushed so hard to get the start, got there second to Harri, made the pass for the lead and made a point of putting the hammer down because I didn’t want him to check my lines and pass me later. It is so much fun out there, I feel great and the bike feels awesome,” said Conrad after the race. Gilbert was third both times and looking forward to more hard-pack terrain.
The Crendon Fastrack Honda team rookie Conrad Mewse secures spot on Swiss MXGP startgate. With the cancellation of the British Championship round at Canada Heights, Mewse decided to secure a wildcard entry for the Swiss MXGP at Frauenfeld.
“It’s an awesome track, very similar to Oxford Moto Parc, like an outdoor Supercross track. It will be good to race on something different to the soft stuff we’ve raced on for the past few weeks.”
“We agreed that we would try to contest some MXGP rounds with him,” said team boss Dave Thorpe. “He’s put so much work in over the winter and is riding so well, we wanted to give him this opportunity to ride on the world stage. The cancellation of Canada Heights made it an ideal opportunity.”
