Dorset Classic Scramble Club enjoyed another successful year, running three superb meetings which catered for a growing number of Twin-shock and Classic machines.

The club was founded in 2005, and affiliated to the AMCA  and membership has grown steadily.

An epic opening instalment took place in June at Lawn near Gillingham, Dorset, where a  bumper entry of keen
competitors tackled the Nigel Revell Trophy scramble.

The Twin-shock groups at Dorset are seeded, they don't depend on what type of bike you ride, and they cater for all abilities and welcome beginners or experienced riders alike.

In the A group, spectators looked forward to seeing Dorset regular Kristian Marshall, 16-year-old Olly Jones who was having his first Twin-shock ride and Phil Lewis, a World Vet's competitor, to name but a few.

The day produced some close, exciting Twin-shock A races as Jones bolted off the line chased by Marshall, Lewis and Martin Perrett on his well-known Triumph/ Maico special brew.

Marshall hounded Jones for several laps before he eventually found a clear line to sneak through, with Lewis
following.

Jones hung to third place with Richard Stiby on the big Rotax taking a superb fourth.

The follow-up was another delight with Stiby taking the holeshot from Marcus Clare, Marcus Feltham and Lewis.

Stiby powered around the circuit, looking good on the mighty four-stroke as the battle for second took place behind him between Lewis and Marshall, the latter having to play catch-up after a poor start.

With the last-lap flag out, Stiby could do no more and Lewis and Marshall powered past and were neck-and-neck at the flag.

Stiby took third, his best-ever result over Clare, who had an equally pleasing finish in a race full of surprises.

Race three saw Stiby off to another flyer and he was joined at the front by Marshall and Matt Fry, with the pair soon finding a way past and having their own duel for the lead.

Marshall finally took a hard-fought win over Fry and Jones who got the better of Stiby in the closing stages.

Marshall also took home the Nigel Revell Trophy, holding off Lewis and Martin Perrett.

The remaining Twin-shock classes, A B and C respectively were won by Kevin Butcher, Colin Moore and Dorset's Ant Hill Mob member Alf Butler.

As well as Twin-shock classes there was also a bumper Classic entry and David Bell proved almost unstoppable in the Pre-65 Over 350cc races, taking two wins and a second from Dorset regular Bryan Smith and Nick Richards.

Jon Kinge won the Pre-74 Over 250cc clash ahead of Mark Stamp, while Kevin Willmer was top dog in the Pre-65 up to 350cc events and Gerard Copping wrapped it all up in the Pre 74 up to 250cc chase.

The Summer Scramble was held in July, at Penslewood near Wincanton, Somerset.
