The job of organising this years Inter Centre Team Trial went to the ACU Mid-Wales Centre, in its diamond jubilee year.
The event was based at the Green Hall venue at Llanfyllin, Powys – a superb piece of land, with excellent camping facilities and a lap of no less than five-miles over a very picturesque landscape.
Adults and Youths featured five-man teams, with the best four scores to count, while the six Sidecar teams were
allowed four crews, with three to count.
The Youth scores are also ranked and the team positions calculated on the finishing positions in the respective classes.
Things got under way on Saturday when 16 youth and two girls' teams set out at 10am for two-laps of the mega course, with 20-sections to be ridden on each circuit.
The usual rules applied for the Youth and the following day's Adult solo teams, with five riders in each squad and four scores counting.
Yorkshire had taken the 2010 youth title and East Yorks the girls' crown, but the question was, could they retain their titles against some impressive opposition?
The answer was a resounding yes, as both squads had impressive days.
James Stones had a great day riding the B route for Yorkshire, losing just two marks on his second lap.
He was well backed up by his team-mates to finish comfortably in front of East Yorkshire, who had Jack Pearce (C Class) as top scorer and then East Midlands, with Tom Dexter proving their best rider on the day.
Individual top rides went to Dec Bullock in the A class, whose Cheshire and North Wales centre eventually claimed ninth overall.
