England close in on Nations Cup

Irelands hold on the Nations Cup title is looking shakey after England again stretched its points lead at the recent Willcock Holeformers British Championship round at Dean Moor.
Luke Cooper from Wales won the round, but with Paul Holmes and George Callaway filling the remain podium places, England has now amassed a 78-point lead over the holders and current second-placed country, Ireland.
Yamaha also stretched its lead in the Manufacturers Cup thanks to Holmes and Callaway.
Yamaha now has a 222 point lead over KTM and looks unlikely to be caught with a maximum of 291 points up for grabs at the final round in October.
A manufacturer could score 291 points if its riders finished first and second in all three heats.
Honda won last year's Manufacturers Championship when both Championship winner, Paul Winrow, and Under 21 Champion, Mark McLernon, used Honda power.
However this year both men have competed in only selected rounds. Additionally, Dean Colhoun, who rode Honda for much of last year, has switched back to Can-Am.
