Fry up for fight

MICHAEL Brown continued his Scottish Six Days build-up with an impressive win in the Yeadon Guiseley clubs Chris Carter National Trial, based on the clubs land at Dob Park, Otley, West Yorkshire, on Sunday.
The Gas Gas UK ace, shepherded by team boss John Shirt (in his first competitive ride since the Scottish last year) dropped just a single mark, dropped in the penultimate sub of the 40 section event at, ironically, Brown's Wood, to cruise to a clear-cut victory over Beta mounted Richard Sadler.
Richard's score of a round dozen proved good enough for an equally clear-cut second overall.
Meanwhile, the battle for the 2015 S3 Parts title was on in earnest as Sherco duo James Fry and Chris Pearson locked horns yet again, this time James coming out on top in the fast moving series, this being the sixth round and the fourth held in three weekends.
James only just bagged the 20 Championship points, though, as Beta's Ian Austermuhle matched his score of 17 while Sherco's Luke Walker was also on it all day, finishing just one mark adrift on 18.
With more than 100 entries in total looking forward to a good day out over the 40 sections set in nine groups on the single-lap road-based course in the Washburn valley near Otley the Clubman riders were first to start with Lancashire's Julian Ingham first man away at 9.30am prompt.
