For those wanting a ready-to-race machine,Husqvarna now under BMW ownership presented a limited editionversion of the SM450 RR at the Milan Motorcycle Show. This is an exactreplica of the machine used by Adrien Chareyre in the S1 class of the2007 World Supermoto Championship.

Supermoto aficionados will be more than happy withthe wide range of accessories that come as standard on this specialmachine. It features a TIG welded frame with adjustable steering headjust like on the official Team Husqvarna machine. It also features ablack anodised swingarm that improves traction and manoeuvrability. Aone-piece steering plate is made from anodised Ergal and the increaseddiameter steering pivot is in aluminium.

For the first time, a standard version of arace-going Supermoto machine will have tubeless tyres with an 120/70x 16.5 at the front and a 170/55 x 17.1 Dunlop slick at therear. The wheels are finished in two colours.

The racing brakes are the best on the market. Thefront Brembo system is fitted with an over-sized 16 x 16 pump and hasradial calipers that act on a 320 x 5mm disc.

Handling the suspension side of things, there are50mm Marzocchi forks with a sealed pump unit and the rear features aSachs aluminium-bodied shock absorber.

A more powerful racing engine is mated to asix-speed gearbox with an STM slipper clutch. Other features include anelectric starter, 41mm Keihin carburettors, special pistons and camsand hand-built heads prepared by the Husqvarna racing department.

The titanium Arrow exhaust system has twinsilencers just like World Champ Adrien Chareyre's bike. The followingcarbon-fibre components have been discarded clutch cover, valvecover, shock absorber protector, filter box, front mudguard support, hub cover and chain guide to save weight.

The twin-coloured anodised aluminium filler cap isnew, as are the anodised Ergal racing handlebar clamps. These areone-piece items bearing the legendary Husqvarna name.

The motorcycle comes supplied with spare sprocketsand crown wheels and a set of steering rake sockets as well as a racingtype side stand, racing brake and clutch levers and hand guards.

It is emphasised that the machine cannot be homologated and is only for use on the track.

The combination of black with the white and red ofthe racing bikes and the two-way adjustable saddle complete the SM450RR that will only be available subject to reservation through theHusqvarna dealership network from early December.
