The rejuvenated Girona-based Gas Gas brand, now under the wing of electric bike manufacturer Torrot, is looking to get trials bike production back on track as soon as possible hopefully as early as March in the iconic mirror glass fronted factory.

In recent statements new Gas Gas CEO Ivan Contreras has reiterated his aims for the company which is to crack on with trials production, aiming for around 3000 units in 2016.
Meanwhile, he has already set in motion plans for a completely revamped enduro range of machines incorporating both two-stroke and four-stroke models. These will not be put into production until 2017 allowing the whole of 2016 for development.
Ivan has stated that he has plans for a new generation of four-stroke motors to replace the Yamaha engines used in the last Gas Gas enduro machines before production was halted in 2015.
Contreras is obviously keen to capitalise on the brand's popularity but has stated several times that Gas Gas is now in a new era and will be run along strict business lines with top-class build quality crucial as he grows the business.
His business background includes setting up a very successful company that provides carbon fibre parts for the aerospace industry before selling it on and setting up Torrot. He sees Torrot and Gas Gas as complimentary businesses with Gas Gas able to benefit from electric technology in the future.
