GNCC Series - Round 2 Washington, GA
By TMX Archives on 12th Mar 07
In round two of the GNCC Series KTM again showed up on the podium in both the XC1 and XC2 classes.
In XC1 action Robbie Jenks had a top 10 start and rode strong throughout the race picking up positions and finished in third. David Knight had a good start and rounded the first lap in second place but went downhill from there. Knight began to lose places due to a broken hand injury and couldn't gain his momentum back.
"Robbie had a great day today and I'm very happy with his finish. David had many issues today especially with his broken hand but we will improve. Luckily there was a good mix of finished this round compared to last so we are not completely out of the championship chase,” said KTM Off Road Team Manager Antti Kallonen.
In XC2 class action Kurt Caselli again stood atop the podium at days end. Caselli took the holeshot and pulled away from there. Duvall gave chase for a few laps but Caselli won the class by over 2 minutes. Also in the XC2 class Justin Williamson pulled out a seventh place finish.
"I had a really good start but didn't feel comfortable at first. I ended up pulling away and riding consistently. It was a good week and my bike was great. I'm really happy with it. I just want to thank KTM, my sponsors, and my manager, Antti Kallonen,” said Caselli.
